First of all: Yes, I know this list is subjective and flawed and that there's really no way to objectively judge what the greatest albums of all time are. I am going through this list in order to 1. Expand my musical horizon (I'm not really genre-bound when it comes to music, so a list like this is perfect for me) 2. For fun and 3.That's it, really. Yes, I do get obsessive about stuff, why do you ask?

I'm doing my best to do this chronologically (500 to 1), but that's not always possible, and there are albums I've already heard on the list, naturally.

Anyway, I'll make a note whenever I've finished another album, and will strike it out. I managed to *ahem* a good chunk over the past week or so.

Sad news. I wasn't that familiar with his solo stuff (other than the obvious) but I've become a definite Velvet Underground fan over the past year or so.

And this song is sadly appropriate:

I'd kill for a Four/Romana vid set to this song. Like, I'd literally murder someone. Just kidding, I'd just murder them metaphorically.

If Doctor Who fans on my flist don't know who she was you definitely should (as in, she deserves more recognition than she gets, not that you're ignorant).

Randomly caught this one on VH1. I almost forgot how brilliant it is (apart from the fat-shaming at the end). It's definitely up there in my all time favourite music videos list!

Oh, and could the Ape Person jumping up and down like that be a 2001 shout-out? Or is it just, you know, ape-behaviour (or our common perception of it)?

RIP MCA

Now, I've never followed the Beastie Boys very closely, to say the least, but I'm still sad to hear that Adam Yauch aka MCA has passed away from cancer at only 47. Talented man, for sure. Fight for Your Right, Sabotage, and Intergalactic are songs I could listen to over and over and over again. Not to mention, he was one few male artists expressed sincere regret for the misogyny in some of his earlier work, and tried to make amends. John Lennon is another good example.

Also, I forgot how awesome the music vid for Intergalactic is in all old school sci-fi loving glory:

For the occassion, my favourite John Lennon song:

I'm not working class, but I nontheless really indentify with the lyrics. As I do with so many of his songs, really. I think it works if you're part of a ''marginalised'' group one way or another.

Also, that video is really well-made. I get chills from the blood-stain spreading on The Catcher in the Rye at the end.

FIRST TEN PEOPLE TO RESPOND TO THIS GET A MINI MUSIC MIX (5 SONGS) OF THEIR CHOICE

It could be music for sexytimes, my favorite comfort music, songs from a certain genre or a fanmix for a certain ship (provided I know the ship)

Hell, it doesn't even have to be a ship I like, although in that case I reserve the right to bash it through music.;)
